La Malbaie and surrounding area A tourist draw for over two centuries now, this vast area attracted North America’s high society very early on with its calm, beauty, and fresh air. Riverside Pointe-au-Pic is, in fact, the cradle of the travel industry in Canada. Its prestigious Manoir Richelieu, harks back to the era of the great white ships (early 20th century) and is still a sparkling attraction today, perched high above the St. Lawrence next to Casino de Charlevoix. Nearby, located at picturesque Havre de Pointe-au-Pic, Musée de Charlevoix has given priority to folk art. It is considered the leading museum in this field in Québec. The town of La Malbaie has recently grown considerably in size with its amalgamation with the Rivière-Malbaie (home of the Mont Grand-Fonds ski centre), Sainte-Agnès, Cap-à-l'Aigle, and Saint-Fidèle ex-municipalities. The latter two sit side-by-side and offer stunning views of the St. Lawrence River. The picturesque village of Sainte-Agnès and surrounding area stretch over hill and dale with anaverage altitude of 450 meters. They are the gateway to the Charlevoix back country. Sector Map
